Why This Is The Most Comprehensive Lakewood Ranch Search...
This is the most accurate and comprehensive Lakewood Ranch search you'll ever find..... that's because this search covers not just Lakewood Ranch, but the area next to it. There is no difference in the quality of the homes, schools, or access to restaurants and services if you live in a community that happens to be across the street from the Lakewood Ranch borders (we do!). So we've included those communities in this search.
Many people think Lakewood Ranch is not a city, it is not. It is a community that extends across both Manatee and Sarasota County. It's postal addresses include 'Bradenton', 'Lakewood Ranch', and 'Sarasota'. This search encompasses all of that, so when you look at homes here, you'll get everything in the Lakewood Ranch Area, even the new Waterside neighborhood.
About Lakewood Ranch, Florida
Lakewood Ranch is a master-planned community located in southeastern Manatee County and northeastern Sarasota County in Florida, United States. It covers an area of approximately 31,000 acres and is one of the fastest-growing communities in the state of Florida.
The property was purchased by the Uihlein family (pronounced "e-line"), founders of the Schlitz Brewing Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1905. It functioned as a cattle ranch and citrus farm until 1994 when it transitioned into the community development known as Lakewood Ranch. The community was designed to offer residents a high quality of life with access to top-notch amenities, recreational opportunities, and a variety of residential options. It is divided into approximately 30 villages, each with its own unique character and features and is now home to over 60,000 residents in homes ranging from single family homes, condominiums, townhomes, villas, and upscale apartments.
With 150 miles of walking trails, residents enjoy top-rated elementary, middle and high schools; a hospital and medical center, dozens of parks and lakes, golf courses, several country clubs, a polo grounds, the Premier Sports Campus, scores of restaurants and one of the nation's newest mega-shopping areas at University Town Center.
